Andres Escobar is co-founder of IMPCT Coffee, which he describes as “the world’s first impact trade specialty coffee company.” IMPCT’s mission is to transform low income and urban slum communities through education. Its method is to directly source products from these low-income communicates and then invest the profits back into the community through employing the teachers to run their preschools, which are branded “PlayCare.” Andres and his co-founders were winners of the 2015 Hult Prize, a crowdsourced business model contest in social entrepreneurship.
