Truls Berg is a Norwegian serial entrepreneur, successful CEO and author of three books, with more than 30 years of experience from the IT industry. He holds a number of board positions, is a frequently used speaker and is a regular columnist in Computerworld and InnoMag.

As the founding leader of Open Innovation Lab of Norway he’s probably Norway’s leading innovation specialist and he serves as the leader of Standard Norway’s Innovation Management comitee

After successfully sailing around the world Truls has started 15 companies, including Component Software (now Affecto), Integrate, Comperio, Divine Nordic, Inspirator and Movation. In addition, he has assisted a number of other start-up companies. In the period 1992-96, he helped build Sybase Norway from 2 to 75 employees. After the company was sold to the USA, he started Component Software in 1997, which in the period up to 2001 was Norway’s fastest growing IT company. In the year 2000, he was named “IT-CEO of the Year”

In the period 2001 – 2003 he was chairman of the board of the Norwegian Data Association, and after a period in FAST, Berg in 2005 led the start-up of Comperio. In 2006, he started Digital Insight, based on the belief that digital insight is one of the most important competitive advantages of our time. In 2008 he also helped start up Innovation Forum Norway, where he served as Secretary General until 2016. In 2013, Truls wrote the book “Halvveis til fremtiden – 5 megatrender som endrer Norge, og resten av verden” together with futurist Adjiedj Bakaas. The book was a success, and has sold 3,000 copies.

In the autumn of 2021, his third book “Jakten på digital innsikt og økt innovasjonskraft” (The pursuit of digital insight and increased innovative power) came out and in this book Truls provides valuable insight about where we as a society is heading, and how the Nordic Way has improved their innovation game.
