Joelle Flynn is the Founder of FunkkOFF!® Inc. and the Inventor behind FunkkOFF!
TeethRefreshers®—the first and only reusable (30x) 2-in-1 toothbrush and toothpaste designed to keep teeth white and fresh on-the-go. She holds 11 U.S. patents, 1 China patent, and 3 U.S. trademarks for her product designs, brand names, and logos.
In July 2021, FunkkOFF!® launched its flagship product, FunkkOFF! TeethRefreshers®, marking a groundbreaking moment in portable oral care. In February 2023, Joelle appeared on ABC’s Shark Tank®, where she secured a $250,000 equity deal from Robert Herjavec.
Under her leadership, FunkkOFF!® received multiple prestigious awards, including the International Grand Prix Du Design Award for Consumer Products, a Gold Stevie® Award for Women in Business Start-Up of the Year, and a Silver Stevie® Award for International Start-Up of the Year. The brand has been featured Inventors Digest, NBC News, Travel & Leisure, Los Angeles Times, SHAPE, Real Simple, and Essence. In August 2025, Joelle had a successful 7-figure exit from FunkkOFF!® Inc.
A lifelong Entrepreneur, Joelle started working at just 141⁄2 and put herself through the University of Delaware, earning a degree in Consumer Economics. By 22, she became the youngest stockbroker hired at Bank of America, trained in Tower II of the World Trade Center and managed over $350 million in assets. Since then, she has built, scaled, and successfully exited ventures across fintech, real estate, and other startups combining sharp strategy with meaningful impact.
Her achievements have been widely recognized. In 2022, she was inducted into the University of Delaware’s WE Hatch Honor Circle, honoring “Innovative & Entrepreneurial Women Who Inspire Us” and in 2026 she received the inaugural award, “Women in Wealth Leadership” from the prestigious Opal Group. In 2025, she was elected as the first female Board Member for the 140k+ member nonprofit, United Inventors Association.
In 2026, Joelle founded FIRE (Female Inventors & Rising Entrepreneurs), a global platform built to elevate and connect female innovators. Through powerful pitch experiences and carefully curated rooms, she is actively confronting a system where only 1.1% of funding goes to women and working to change the fact that just 4% of patents have been issued to them in the last decade. She also judges entrepreneurial pitch competitions. Joelle was recently appointed to the Women Inventors Committee by the IFIA (International Federation of Inventors’ Association), funded by and under the
supervision of the United Nations.
Joelle is a Congressional and keynote speaker who shares her message globally. She educates internationally on entrepreneurship, innovation, and resilience motivating others to pursue their own entrepreneurial ventures. Joelle also advises CPG companies directly, supporting them from initial concept and product development through funding, growth, scaling, retail, wholesale and successful exits, and across every function in between.
Dedicated to empowering women and girls, Joelle founded the Orange County chapter of Girls on the Run, a nonprofit inspiring young girls through confidence and fitness. She also sits on the nonprofit Board of Golf Like A Girl, dedicated to making golf more accessible women and girls.
She has three adult children, practices yoga, enjoys running, and resides in Dana Point, California.
