
Domenico Caprioli is a seasoned expert in R&D management and technology transfer, with a unique background that bridges the humanities and applied science. He holds an MSc in Philosophy (2004) and earned his PhD in Urban Anthropology in 2010. Since then, he has worked extensively as a researcher and as an external expert and evaluator for several research bodies, including the European Commission.
With a strong track record in fostering innovation, Domenico has supported research centers, universities, and startups in developing market-oriented solutions by identifying the right technological and financial partners. Simultaneously, he has advised large corporations in sourcing strategic technologies and investment opportunities. His global network of public agencies, corporations, and research institutions enables him to rapidly assess and add value to innovation-driven projects.
A frequent lecturer at Italian universities and a TEDx speaker, Domenico advocates for a user-centered approach to the space economy, viewing space as a laboratory for managing scarcity. In 2019, he co-founded yoursciencebc Ltd in the UK, followed by yourscienceEDU in Italy in 2021. Through these ventures, he has supported over 80 emerging technology projects and led 12 complex R&D initiatives, particularly in space applications, advanced materials, agritech, and pharmaceuticals.
In addition to his core work, Domenico is active in the edtech sector as an investor and serves as a permanent mentor to multiple startups, especially those emerging from the renowned ADMACOM program in advanced materials.
